Obama Flogging Horse

"A horse...a horse...my kingdom for a horse!"

So cries Richard III in Shakespeare's play by the same name.

The AP is out reporting upon a similarly desperate and out of touch Barack Obama, attempting to rally his flagging troops.
"Admonishing his own party, President Barack Obama says it would be "inexcusable" and "irresponsible" for unenthusiastic Democratic voters to sit out the midterm elections, warning that the consequences could be a squandered agenda for years.

"People need to shake off this lethargy. People need to buck up," Obama told Rolling Stone."
I guess we don't realize how great Barry's got things going.
He said the glass-half-empty view among many progressive voters can be a debilitating force that distracts them from the real worry: Republicans.
Yeah. That's the real worry. Not the crumbling economy. Not nuclear Iranian wack jobs looking to usher in the twelfth Imam. Republicans like that Sarah Palin and Nikki Haley.
"The president has been telling Democrats to "wake up" and recognize that he and the Democratic-run Congress have delivered on promises, from a new health care law to tougher rules for Wall Street to more aid for college students. Obama wants disenchanted supporters to see that Republican wins in November would undermine the ability of Democrats to get the unfinished business done, from climate change legislation to allowing gays to serve openly in the military.

What emerges in the magazine story is a stern, lecturing tone from Obama."
Yeah, well maybe that's the problem Bare? Maybe when they were voting you in they had no idea the crazy ideas that you had about running up the Federal deficit and paying back your union cronies?
"The idea that we've got a lack of enthusiasm in the Democratic base, that people are sitting on their hands complaining, is just irresponsible," he said
What's irresponsible is blowing 1.5 trillion dollars in eighteen months. Who does that kinda crap?!
The president said he keeps a checklist of his campaign promises and that he has met, by his account, about 70 percent of them.
He keeps a checklist.
"As for the rest: "Well, that's what the next two years is for, or maybe the next six."
Obama would need to win re-election in 2012 for that latter time frame to occur."
Nice touch with the little civics reminder.

Update  9/28/10

Vice President Joe Biden, never fearful of the microphone, has taken another head first dive into the mosh pit:
Campaigning for Democratic candidates in New Hampshire, Vice President Joe Biden said Monday the party's base should "stop whining.
"Biden criticized its lack of specifics and offered his opinion on what would happen if the plan was implemented.
"If they did everything the pledge calls for, it will add a trillion dollars to the debt and that would require them under their program to eliminate every program in the government from the FBI to highways and a whole bunch of other things to meet the goals they state," he said.
That sounds good to me.  Shut it down.

And why is this fool so worried about how we are going to pay for it all? Why is that never a consideration when he is getting set to loan billions to Brazilian and Mexican oil companies, or spend hundreds of billions on a hapless works program that did no meaningful work? What was your payment plan for that, Joe?

The piker.

  1. It's the petulant attitude that really strikes me as off. It is as though he sees us as an inconsiderate bunch, imposing upon his generosity.

Look, Bare, the union guys are appreciative... the ones whose plants weren't closed, that is. And the union leadership, of course. And the government employees... they think you're great.

It's just all the rest of America that is wondering "What the... ?"

  2. Why did you have to post this and make my blood boil? Oh dear, this is upsetting. Very very upsetting. I love how he throws around the issue of gays in the military as if the Log Cabin Republicans weren't the ones who had to fight HIS administration to get the ban overturned in a California court. As a queer Soldier, I reject the notion that the Democrats are our knights in shining armor.

    And Rolling Stone.... oh my!

  3. Buck up, Coco. Shake off that lethargy. He reminds me of that officer in Doctor Zhivago: "Get back into your ranks, you mutinous dogs!"

    : )

  5. Ahfff!

Cathy, that is such a good movie!

And what better time to watch it then in the midst of the Obamonista takeover and enslavement of the remaining freedom loving Americans.

"I am free. I'm the only free man here!"

  6. Can anyone remember Bush even once publicly blaming either own his political base or the public in general for his own problems (which were many)? For that matter, I can't remember any previous president doing such a thing.

  7. No.

It's foolish on the face of it, topped only by Joe Biden's admonition to the Democrat party faithful to "Buck off".
